Section 50
Punishment Punishment

(1) A person who commits the following offense shall be punished as follows:-
(a) Whoever commits an offense under Clause (a) of Section 49 shall be punished with imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to thirty thousand rupees or both, and the house or hut built on that land shall be confiscated. If he has removed or damaged the forest produce while committing such a crime, he will also be punished accordingly.
(b) Whoever commits an offense under Clause (b) of Section 49 shall be punished with imprisonment up to three years or with fine up to thirty thousand rupees or with both.
(c) A person who commits an offense under clause (c) of section 49 shall be fined at the following rate of every four feet:-
(1) For sheep, goats, from five rupees to fifty rupees.
(2) From five hundred rupees to one thousand rupees if it is an elephant.
(3) In the case of other quadripayas, from ten rupees to one hundred rupees.
(d) Whoever commits an offense under Clause (d), (e), (f), (g) or (h) of Section 49 shall be punished with confiscation of forest produce related to the offense as follows:-
(1) Fine up to one hundred rupees if breached up to one hundred rupees.
(2) If there is a violation from one hundred rupees to one thousand rupees, the penalty will be as per the violation.
(3) In case of violation from one thousand rupees to five thousand rupees, fine according to the violation or imprisonment up to six months or both.
(4) In case of breach of more than five thousand rupees, double fine or imprisonment up to one year or both.
(e) Whoever commits an offense under Clause (j) of Section 49 shall be punished with confiscation of the forest produce related to the offense and imprisonment for up to five years or a fine of up to fifty thousand rupees or both.
(f) Whoever commits an offense under clause (j) or (d) of section 49 shall be imprisoned for up to three years and fined up to thirty thousand rupees.
(g) Whoever commits an offense under clause (k) of section 49 will be fined up to five hundred rupees per plant depending on the amount of the offence, and whoever commits the same offense again will be imprisoned for one year or fined up to ten thousand rupees or both, depending on the amount of the offence.
(h) Those who commit an offense under Clause (l) of Section 49 shall be fined and imprisoned for up to two years.There will be a fine up to 10 or 20 thousand rupees or both.
(i) Whoever commits an offense under Clause (d) of Section 49 shall be punished as provided in the prevailing law.
(j) The offender under Clause (n) of Section 49 shall be fined up to one thousand rupees, if found guilty. (2) A person or a government servant who commits an offense under sub-section (1) of section 16 shall be punished with a fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with both.
